Fun Stuff

Earlier this week, our local library was having a Meet a Police Officer event.  Knowing how much Daniel enjoys all things Police related, Amy thought it would be fun to take the kids.  And it was!  One of the highlights was during the Q&A session, one of the police officers asked the kids if they knew when it was ok for a cop to use their gun.  Daniel raised his hand was called on.  His answer, "Only as a last resort to save your own life."  The officer said that was the best answer she'd ever heard and some of the other moms even clapped for him.  Definitely a proud moment!

Afterwards there was time for the kids to take some pictures and explore some of the police vehicles and equipment.

And of course, time for a popsicle:

Yesterday, Amy took the kids to the pool to meet some friends.  She spent most of the time swimming with the kids, but did manage to take a quick picture before getting in the water.

Our neighbors are out of town for the weekend and thought it would be fun to let us borrow their golf cart while they were gone.  The kids are loving it.  I'll admit, it's pretty fun to go cruising around the neighborhood each evening.  Here's a video our doorbell recorded (we did intentionally pull up to towards the door to get it to start recording) before we headed out this evening.

And this evening, before bed, Leslie showed me two of the songs she learned at school this Summer.  She even let me record her while she sang them.

Fun week and now we're ready for a fun weekend!
