PAX!

Daniel and I spent this past weekend in San Antonio going to the Penny Arcade Expo!  We had such an awesome time!  We flew out Saturday around lunch time, right after swimming lessons.  We had a long layover in Dallas, so we decided to take a quick Uber to nearby aircraft museum.  It was really cool!

After arriving in San Antonio, we checked into our hotel.  We asked nicely for an upgrade, and they gave us a corner room on the 17th floor.  Daniel was very excited!  We didn't have time to do much other than eat and get ready for bed, but the view the next morning was great!

Then after a quick breakfast at what turned out to be one of his new favorite restaurants (Denny's), we were ready to head to PAX.

The day was full of playing lots of different video games.  Everything from a retro arcade to new games that are still in development.  There were even tons of board games.  One of the highlights was an area devoted entirely to Minecraft.  Daniel spent a while playing there, and then we watched and participated in some Minecraft trivia as well as a build competition.  Here are a bunch of pictures from throughout the day.

And then, the fun had to come to an end.  We took an evening flight out of San Antonio and headed home.  Of course, there was still time for a bit more video games on the plane on the way home.

Our second flight didn't get in until very late, and by the time we got to the car and drove home, we didn't pull into the garage until about 1:30 in the morning.  To say that that Daniel was worn out would be an understatement.

It was a whirlwind trip, about 36 hours start-to-finish, but it was so much fun!  I can't wait until Leslie is old enough to join us.  Speaking of Leslie, here are some pictures of how the girls spent their weekend while we were away.
