11-Month Update

Daniel turned 11-months-old today!  He is really developing and growing rapidly.  We are anxious for his 1-year well baby visit to see just how much he's grown, as our once tiny boy seems to be going through a growth spurt.

In the meantime, here's a rundown of his latest and greatest:

Sleeping - Daniel is a good sleeper!  He generally sleeps a little more than 11 hours at night and just under three hours during the day (2 naps).

Eating - He feeds himself with his hands and drinks from a cup.  He takes four bottles a day and three meals.  He still struggles with pieces of food - always throws O's on the floor, but is getting better about eating rice Mum-Mums, and recently small pieces of Nutri-Grain bars.

Teeth - Daniel now has eight teeth - four upper and four lower.  He enjoys "brushing" his teeth with his chewing type toothbrush (silicone) and flouride-free toothpaste.

Social skills - Daniel loves to play peek-a-boo and has really taken to imitating our actions.  He is still serious and curious, but also loves to laugh at whatever he happens to find funny at that moment.  He seeks out interaction with familiar people.  One of my favorite sights each day is when Bobby comes home from work. Daniel hears the door open and he can't crawl fast enough to the door to see him, then sits, and bounces on his bottom until Daddy picks him up.  It's adorable!  He is generally anxious when he's separated from us or around strangers, but will almost always hand out a smile if he's in our arms and someone smiles at him.

Daniel also understand simple requests such as "no," not to say he always stops the behavior, but he does know what it means. He likes to test our behavior as well, often throwing a piece of food on the floor to see how we react.

He adjusted well to apartment living, though I think we are all pretty excited to get into our new house in a few weeks.  I look forward to the day when I can let the dogs outside without Daniel attached to my hip and  managing a dog on a leash.  On the bright side, it's nice to get some fresh air with Daniel during the day!

We simply can't believe how fast these last 11-months have gone.  It's amazing to think that in one short month I'll be posting about his 1-year birthday!
I'm 11-months-old today, and I keep getting more and more adorable!

Hey Mom, can I see that camera?
