We played hard this Spring Break. We started the break by taking a trip to Des Moines for my cousin, Emily's, wedding shower and to visit family we hadn't seen since Christmas. Somehow we didn't manage to get a picture with the bride-to-be... sigh.

While Leslie and I were at Emily's shower, Bobby and Daniel went off to see the movie, Apollo 11. Daniel was a bit apprehensive about it, but absolutely LOVED it. After the movie, they went to Zombie Burger, a Des Moines hotspot.
We spent the weekend mostly playing around at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We went out for dinner on St. Patrick's Day, all decked out in our green. It was great to see everyone and be able to spend some time together!

When we got home, we had lots of chores to do, but Daniel and I managed to sneak in some tea time while Bobby took Leslie to gymnastics.
Tuesday, we went to Petco (they've been asking to see the animals there), to Target for Daniel to buy a new Lego with his own money (yes, he still loves Legos), and to storytime at the library for Leslie while Bobby and Daniel played a game of chess. We also went to a playground later in the day.

This picture doesn't really portray it, but "Ry the Storytime Guy" is hilarious!
Wednesday, Bobby had to head back to work, so I took the kids to a different playground (so happy to have nicer weather now), and to a favorite for lunch, Chick-fil-A.

Do you spy Daniel and Leslie in there? Daniel is up pretty high... for Daniel. ;)

Thursday, Daniel had his friend Phoenix over for a few hours. The boys played really well with Leslie (mostly). Later in the day, Leslie had dance class.

Friday was a big day. Bobby had the day off, so we went to the Zoo. The weather was AMAZING, and I'm pretty sure most of Kansas City was there too. Thankfully we got there as it opened, but by the time we left, it was packed.

It was fun to see the baby King penguin so close!

We rode the Sky Safari... twice!

Saturday and Sunday were pretty normal weekend days, but we've been itching to get some new photos of the kids together. We told them if they were good for pictures, we could make cookies. They did not disappoint!
I'm a little sad Spring Break is over. The kids got along really well most of the time. They really are besties.
