Fun Stuff

Here are some of the fun things we've been up to over the last week-and-a-half or so.

The kids both started swimming lessons.  Daniel is back to group lessons.  He's been doing private lessons to get ready for Level 4.  The main requirement for Level 4 is to be able to swim the length of the pool (and it's a big pool) by yourself.  He can do that pretty easily now and has been doing well in the group classes.  This is Leslie's first time in swim lessons and she's mostly really enjoying it.  The first week she was not a big fan of going under water, but they only did that once, briefly, and the rest of the time was spent working on swimming basics.  The second class she went under all by herself and afterwards said she had a great time the whole time!

One of Daniel's best friends, Shafer, had his birthday party recently.  It was a Halloween themed party and the kids got to wear their costumes one last time.  It was lots of fun watching the kids run around and play with their friends.

While out running errands recently, Amy and Leslie stopped in to Starbucks for a little treat.  Leslie was a big fan!

And, of course, we voted.  But don't worry, we voted for the good guys.  The kids enjoyed the experience so much (or was it the candy the voting officials gave them?) that after they got home, they pretended to run their own polling place.

Amy went and surprised Daniel for lunch one day.  It made his day.  And it was a special treat because his assigned "lunch buddy" was gone so Mommy got to be his "lunch buddy" for the day.  Fun!

A few days ago, we had our first snow!  Isn't it too early for that?

Amy did a fun project with Leslie that she LOVED.  She made hand cardboard cutouts and let her paint the fingernails on the hands.  It was a big hit, she was very excited to tell me about it right when I got home.

And yesterday, Daniel had his friend Phoenix over to play for a while.  In an effort to focus their crazy energy for a bit, we made slime.  They had fun making it and have been playing with it throughout the day today, too.

And here is a video of a glimpse into some of Daniel and Leslie playing together.  They are pretty hot and cold when it comes to how well they get along.  Sometimes they are best buddies and other times...not so much.  Here they were having a blast together.

And finally, last weekend we snapped some nicer pics of the kids together in front of the pond in our neighborhood.  A couple of them turned out really nice.

As you can see, life is busy...but fun!
