Last week Daniel and Leslie had Spring Break. We started the weekend out by having Grandma and Grandpa visit. The kids played a lot, and Grandma went to watch Daniel swim Saturday morning. Saturday evening, Bobby and I went to dinner and to see Riverdance while the grandparents were on babysitting duty.

On Monday, we went to see a bird show at the library. It was an hour long, so I was a little intimidated that it wouldn't hold their attention, but they did great! It was entertaining and informational. A good start to the week.
Tuesday, Bobby took the day off. Leslie went to gymnastics (she's progressing nicely!) and then we went to IKEA. Nothing too exciting, but still a full and fun day spent together.
Wednesday, one of our sweet friends (Palmer) was celebrating her 2nd birthday, so we joined in on the fun. It was nice because Daniel could come too. He met some new friends, and Leslie did too. And of course, we all enjoyed the sweets!

Thursday, I was pretty tired and needed a day to recover and get some chores done, so we stuck close to home, but ventured out to the neighborhood playground.
 |
| We were active pretty much all week, but don't get me wrong... there was also plenty of TV and video game time too. |
Friday was another big day. We went to the KC Zoo. Here's the thing I learned while there... our kids don't really care much about the animals. Sure, they're cool to look at, but all they really wanted to do was ride the carousel and train, and run/climb on the playground equipment. We did make a special effort to see the Wings of Wonder bird show and the sea lion show. It was still a fun time even though I'm a little more fond of seeing the animals.

| Leslie has decided naps aren't really her thing anymore. But after 5 hours at the zoo and a quiet car ride home, she just couldn't make it! |
We rounded out this weekend with swimming lessons for Daniel on Saturday. Then today, the annual Easter Egg Hunt through our neighborhood association. Leslie, who hasn't napped in a couple of weeks (basically), fell asleep and we had to wake her up. She wasn't happy, and we had a hard time getting out the door. But, we made it, and eventually she made a full recovery. Ah, the joys of a threenager!

One last note to close out Spring Break... This morning, Daniel drew me a sweet card to thank me for a fun week.
What I find so funny about this is when I asked him if that was a picture of him playing at the playground at the Zoo, he said, "No, it's our neighborhood one." Sooooo.... a week full of activities, and his most memorable event was walking down the street to our neighborhood playground. I guess I should be happy he's easy to please!
