Fun Weekend

We just wrapped up a pretty fun weekend.  We were expecting to be homebound due to an ice storm, but somehow the meteorologists didn't get that one quite right and we were able to get out of the house.

Saturday morning, Daniel had his second week of swimming class.  He's in level 2 now and doing great.  He's started working on floating by himself and using the kickboard without his teacher holding him.  He still loves it.

After that, we all went to Emmett's (our friends Ryan and Wendy's son) birthday party.  They had a ton of kids there who were all entertained by a really awesome magician.  The adults got a kick out of him too.  He was funny and really knew how to get the kids laughing.  Daniel had a huge smile on his face through the whole thing and even Leslie would clap and yell "Yeah!" with the rest of the kids.  Afterwards, they got to pet the magician's rabbit and dove as well as get some balloon animals.

Afterwards, we went out for a late lunch at Le Peep. We had been wanting to try it for quite a while and figured we should take advantage of it since we weren't too far.  Breakfast food for lunch, yum!

Daniel also learned about word searches and tic-tac-toe
After lunch, I took the kids to Barnes&Noble while Amy ran and got some groceries nearby.  They love B&N, after all, what's not to love?  Toys, games, books!

On the way home, Leslie, who was long overdue for her nap, fell asleep quickly.

Note: she's forward facing now

And Daniel was just happy to show off his balloon-dog he got at the birthday party.

Overall, it was a super fun day!

On another note, Leslie is doing really well in her big girl bed.  She's staying put, sleeping through the night (not that she wasn't before), and loves being "cozy!"  Here is a video of a new game Leslie and I invented a couple nights ago before bedtime:

Amy took a couple pictures of our sleepy girl in her big girl bed:

And here are a few bonus videos.  We switched Daniel to the morning gymnastics class instead of evening to give us a little more flexibility in our evening schedule.  He really enjoyed it - more than he enjoyed the evening class, and that's saying a lot.  I think Leslie enjoyed watching her big brother too!
