Weekend Fun

This weekend Grandpa and Grandma came to visit and do a little babysitting.  There was much fun had, especially by Daniel who got to play "police officers" with Grandpa and Grandma.  Poor Grandpa... he was often the "bad guy" while Grandma and Daniel joined forces.  I think it's ok though; I'm fairly certain everyone had a lot of fun playing.  ;)

Saturday morning Daniel also finished his last round of swimming classes.  I think he's pretty glad to be done.  It was challenging to get him in the water each week, but he did it.  He started eight-weeks ago and wouldn't go under the water.  He progressed, and the teacher dunked him.  Then, this last Saturday, he went under the water by himself... twice!  Big improvement.  Hopefully we can get to the pool a little more this Summer to help ease his anxiety.

At the end of this class session, they turned on the water fountain/play area.  He liked that part!

Bobby and I got to go out for a special Irish concert at a local community college.  It was great to get out for a bit, and the show was wonderful!  We saw the band Danu.

The weather was also amazing this weekend.  We played outside even though it was a bit windy.

Sadly, even with the amazing weather Leslie and I are still fighting colds/coughs.  I'm pretty sure mine has turned in to a full blown sinus infection.  I can't recall ever having a sinus infection before, and I'm sure I don't ever want to again.  Poor Leslie was coughing so much on Thursday night that she threw up.  We took her to the pediatrician on Friday, and everything checked out ok (blood oxygen levels, no fever, sounded clear, no wheezing).  The pediatrician said these things can last 6-8 weeks.  I'm not sure I can handle that!  Her cough is better now, but the poor thing still has quite the runny nose.  I still don't understand how Daniel isn't sick, but I'm not complaining.  Hopefully we're on the up and up and things will be better soon.  Just ick.
