Daniel went to the dentist for the first time today. Amy was also getting her teeth cleaned, so I took Daniel back while mommy went off to her own room. The hygienist started by looking in his mouth and counting his teeth. She did a very brief cleaning/polishing of his teeth, and then let him play with the "vacuum" suction device to suck water out of his mouth. He was so good and so compliant, eagerly doing everything he was asked to do. After the cleaning, the dentist came in and counted his teeth, checked his bite, and let Daniel turn the light on and off, move the chair, and play with some of the other dental tools. Daniel really seemed to enjoy the whole experience. Our usually shy boy really opened up, especially to the hygienist, and even went with her to get some stickers afterwards while the dentist and I talked. And then when we were all done, he proudly opened his mouth to show off his clean teeth to the women working at the front desk. It was very cute, and I am so proud of how well he did.
Unfortunately, I didn't even think to take a picture of any of that. But, because he was so good, he and mommy went for a little treat afterwards and she did take a picture:
